An original production background and cel overlay from the Filmation Studios animated series, "The New Adventures of Superman" (1966-1970). Featuring a dynamic space ship with frozen animals aboard, the hand-painted background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the episode entitled, "Superman Brainiac" which aired on December 31, 1966. Measuring 10.5"x37.5" overall, with the image itself measuring 10.5"x32.5", the background is in very good condition with some surface wear and edge wear, paint lifting in some areas, and a bent lower right corner.
